Canasta
| | Canasta (Spanish for "basket" and was
devised in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1939) is a card game of the rummy family
of games believed to be a variant of 500 Rum. Although many variations exist
for 2, 3, 5 or 6 players, it is most commonly played by four in two
partnerships with two - five standard decks of cards. Players attempt to make
melds of 7 cards of the same rank and "go out" by playing all cards
in their hand. It is the only partnership member of the family of Rummy games
to achieve the status of a classic.

Mah Jongg (National) | Martha Raskin | The centuries-old Chinese game
of Mah Jongg is as beautiful as it is fun. 164 tiles and now 85 hands,
consisting of Flowers, Dragons, Winds and Simples (numbers), played in three
suits of Bamboos (green), Character (Cracks - red) and Dots (white), have
been standardized into an American version (The Wright-Patterson) played all
over the world.
We are happy to teach this
time-honored, mind-benefiting game to all who want to learn. With just a few
helpful lessons, you’ll enjoy the friendships of the FBFN members and
appreciate the non-constricting rules of the group. In this game, you can
drop in every week or come once a month. There are no rules except to call
the hostess if you are not coming but are listed as attending. Mah Jongg is a
game that can fit into busy travel-oriented members lives.
