Welcome to
Fort Bend Friends and Neighbors
|

|
Fort
Bend Friends and Neighbors is a social and philanthropic
organization open to all Fort Bend County residents. Many new and long-time
residents of Fort Bend County have made lasting friendships through
membership and activities in the Club.
FBFN is an ideal place for newcomers to the area to
become familiar with our county and what it has to offer, as well as,
have fun while making new friends along the way. If you are a current resident of Fort
Bend County, Fort Bend Friends and Neighbors is a wonderful place to
socialize and/or become involved in your community through its’
philanthropic activities.
FBFN was organized exclusively for social,
education, and charitable activities. Our objectives are:
·
to provide an opportunity for
members to become acquainted with others in the community and/or
neighborhoods;
·
to provide an atmosphere of
friendliness, goodwill and helpful information for Club members in the
local community;
·
to undertake and promote
charitable and humanitarian projects within the community; and
·
to form enduring friendships.
No matter what life stage you are within, we have a group or
activity for you!
SCHOLARSHIPS
FBFN
devotes back to the community through their Fort Bend Friends and
Neighbors Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Program is designed to
assist Fort Bend County students planning to attend a Fort Bend County
college. FBFN’s primary fund
raiser is a Silent Auction, which is happening on November 4, 2010.
Additionally, honoree and memorial donations are made to the Scholarship
Program.
Fort Bend County young adults are the
primary resource for the future. At the May 2010 luncheon, FBFN
awarded six $1,000 scholarships to deserving graduates. These
students are using their scholarships to further their education at
Houston Community College, Wharton Junior College, or Fort Bend County University
of Houston branches. Since the inception of the Scholarship Program in
2005, approximately $44,000 has been awarded to Fort Bend County
students.
